The DCRO Dash

 

The DCRO Dash is a fast, tough race over the hills south-west of Castleton in the Peak District of Derbyshire.

A major fund-raiser for DCRO, the route passes through some beautiful upland country sandwiched between the moors of the Dark Peak and the valleys of the White Peak … and some of the most severe and rewarding cave venues in the country, and will prove a strong challenge to runners of all abilities.

Entry on the day £6.50  (Race limit is 200, Pre-entry is strongly recommended)
Minimum Age: 18 years
Flagging: Partially Flagged
Race Distance: 8.5km
Total Ascent: 370m

 

Running Kit: Please bring full FRA kit with you (waterproof jacket, trousers, hat, gloves as per FRA Rules) and be prepared to carry/wear it on the race if conditions dictate. There will be a notice at registration advising runners what kit is required. No kit, no race, no exceptions.

GPS devices: The FRA rules for competition have changed for 2021 and GPS navigational devices are no longer allowed for any races, but you may carry a GPS which will record your route for looking at later through, for example, Garmin or Strava.

Navigation and Safety: The race passes through several old mining areas and, because of this, the whole route is flagged and marshalled, and it is vital that all runners follow the flagged route.

No dogs on the race: spectators’ dogs must be on a leash.
